Morocco is a land of spice-scented mystery and medieval Kasbahs and puts your senses on high alert. The country is a magic carpet ride of extremes, from the searing Sahara to the snow-dusted High Atlas Mountains.
Take a day trip or two to Marrakech and sample the bustle and excitement of the “red-walled city” from the narrow streets of the old Medina and Djemaa El Fna Square. There are snake charmers & story tellers, monkey trainers & a fabulous food market. The water sellers add to the colour & the food stands are too many to count. There is also a thriving night life that will keep the young occupied into the small hours.
Visit historical monuments such as Koutoubia, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs or the new European modern district called Gueliz or Ville Nouvelle which host modern restaurants, fast food chains and big brand stores.
The attractive village of Aghbalou is nearby and offers a range of small restaurants close to the water’s edge. Located at an altitude of 1500m, this is an ideal place for those seeking cooler air during Marrakech’s long hot season.
Marrakech is home to 3 fabulous championship golf courses and it’s possible to ski in the Atlas mountains… in your jeans!

This is a glorious villa within striking distance of Marrakech, a great place from which to explore the Atlas mountains and the stunning hills and valleys around the city.
There is a central courtyard with a beautifully tiled fountain, off this are the four bedrooms, each with its own stunning bathroom. The bedrooms are fully air conditioned and each has its own private terrace.
The sitting room is comfortable and has been well thought out with doors which open out on to the garden and terraces. The planting is wonderful and includes vegetables and fruit trees. Fragrant and visually exciting.
The swimming pool is definitely an oasis of calm, stylish sun umbrellas and white beds break up the space and there is lots of poolside shade in the pool house. There are lots of different shady spots in the garden, perfect to catch up with the latest bestseller, watch a movie or just snooze off a big lunch.
If you want to explore the local area this house is perfectly situated, or kick back and enjoy the sun from the comfort of your own private mini estate.
