Local Information

Donkeys and boats are the main forms of transport giving the island a unique old-world charm.

There is plenty of swimming all around the island- the water is deepest azure blue and crystal clear. The closest swimming rocks or platforms are ’Hydronetta’ and ’Spilia’. Both have a bar or cafe and are just a 3 minute walk away. For sheltered cove swimming head to ’Avlaki’ beach a 5-10 minute walk.

A brilliant way to see the island at it’s best is to hire a boat for the day, pack a picnic and stop for lunch at one of the many deserted beaches only accessible by boat. Alternatively the island is well- known for its coastal walks with many historical landmarks along the way.

There are plenty of great places to eat, especially along the waterfront serving mainly fresh fish, grilled meats and the traditional Greek salads. Try ’Veranda’ for romantic roof top views or ’Manna’ the trendy new place in town serving ethnic-style street food.

The port comes alive after sunset with late night cocktail bars and dancing. The best of these is directly under the villa- ’The Pirate Bar’ has a great atmosphere and dancing till dawn so you won’t be bored after dark!

Our View

The central location of this property means it’s brilliant for people who want to be in the thick of it. Plenty of great restaurants and bars are just a hop skip and a jump away with tables right next to the water.

The interior of the property is luxurious and comfortable, dotted with antique furniture. The sitting room has stunning views out across the water and if you’re lucky enough to be able to to play it, the Grand piano in the dining room adds a truly grown up touch. Outside, you can while away the hazy days on the terrace gazing out to sea and watching the boats coming in and out of the harbour.

There is extra accommodation available for staff if you wish to be truly pampered.
