Corfu, famed for it’s glorious greenery and luscious interior, has become an immensely popular and luxurious destination. This divine island offers stunning beaches, great night life, delectable restaurants and boat hopping between small and quaint tavernas meaning that even the most restless of pleasure seeker will be happy!
The north east coast is full of outstanding bays and white pebbled coves, higher up, away from the coast the interior is home to birds of prey, rare flora and rural simplicity. Water sports a-plenty can be found on many of the local beaches.
Nearby St Stephano is a simple and pretty harbour with seafront tavernas and a delightful beach.
For the teenagers the night life in Kassiopi is only a short distance away.
This is a fine place to spend a family holiday or with a close group of friends, potter into town for delicious local delicacies, take a small boat to a tiny taverna for a long, lazy lunch of fresh fish and come home to a delicious dinner under the stars.
One of the greatest pleasures of this gorgeous, wooded stretch of coast is that you can spend your mornings on a boat, stopping off to swim at one or other pebbly cove, admiring the views of mainland Albania before seeking out a new taverna for lunch. All the tavernas have their own wooden jetties and their owners will wave you in, catch your rope and tie up your boat before handing you their menu.
The north east of Corfu never ceases to amaze and this house certainly didn’t disappoint… it’s all about the views! What a joy to end up in such a perfect place on the island with this sight to greet you every morning… from the pool you can see across the Ionian to the Albanian coast and views extend to the mountain range behind the sea, soak them up with a drink on the terrace, or from the comfort of a sun bed by the pool.
What we love about this villa is the feeling of the blurred lines between the inside and the outside, located around a central courtyard, the rooms all have floor to ceiling glass doors. The sitting room has huge sliding doors straight out onto the lounging and eating terrace and the views beyond. Eating outside in the shade with that view is heaven – you will be dreaming of it in February back at home, it really does have a fabulous impact. The courtyard has a day bed with shade and comfortable seating (if lying by the pool gets too much, try your hand at relaxing here!).
The house has a great finish – beautiful exposed ceiling beams which have been gently painted in lime or left natural. The bedrooms are super comfy with bathrooms incorporated into the rooms, just as good (if not better) than a boutique hotel. The showers all have huge rain shower heads and the bathroom fittings are clean lined and contemporary. Some of the bedrooms have a sea view and some a garden view – but you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed as the views are equally lovely. The beds have lovely linen covered bed heads, marble tiled floors and high ceilings. Bedside lights are modern and bright colours punctuate the rooms.
The kitchen is great and leads straight out onto the dining terrace which is very practical, it is really well equipped and has all mod cons.
There is also an experienced house manager on hand to help you relax completely, make recommendations, book a private yoga teacher or a boat for the day to explore the beautiful coastline.
All in all this is a house we are so proud of and we know you’ll have a great time as the house is in such a good location.
