There are a good number of lovely beaches near the house. Rent a boat or go out waterskiing, banana boating or kayaking.
Visit the winery on Kefalonia by boat. Take a cruise to Shipwreck Bay (voted one of the top beaches in the world by Conde Nast Traveller) – one of the most photographed beaches in the world.
Zakynthos is one of the most beautiful of Greek islands. Homer wrote about it in the Iliad and the Odyssey and Ulysses lived here. The Arcadians came and flourished, reaping from its rich fertile soil, as did the Venetians who called it “The Flower of the Levant”. Some of their monasteries still survive in the nearby mountains. The seas around the villas are clean and crystal clear.
The island produces wonderful olive oil, fruit, vegetables, poultry and meat. There are several friendly tavernas (plate-smashing included!), two party nights a week at the Sailing Club and a funky cocktail bar in the nearby port with music until dawn. Something for everyone.
This house really is a home away from home for those who love comfort and style while turning up the heat. It is, what we would call barefoot chic.
The owner has created a wonderful space from which to explore the lovely island of Zachynthos. There are so many great little details which will leave you wanting more: from ping pong and retro table football to a hammock and boules pitch.
If you bore of the spectacular view and sun, explore the garden for lots of shady little spots to sit and enjoy the latest bestseller.
The villa has been sympathetically developed with lots of lovely local tiles on the floor, walls are white and punctuated with a great collection of contemporary artworks. The two, big master bedrooms are a really good size, luxurious and private.
The outside sitting room is so inviting and the perfect place to sit with something cold in hand putting the world to rights with good friends. Have lunch at the lovely wooden table next door and roll over to the comfy seats for a snooze!
The pool area has a wonderful view across the Ionian, enjoy the very generous pool house which has a good kitchen, loo, shower and is full of toys and games to keep the children happy. The pool house also has a sumptuous raised plinth with double mattress for chill out time in the early evening.
We love this house for its simple, exquisite style as well as its beauty and position above the sea. Designed for indulgent summer living this is luxury which is laid back.
