The villa is gorgeous, very seasidey decor. The kitchen has more gadgets than mine. We look straight over the sea and could almost throw a stone onto our nearest little beach. The sea is like the Caribbean, crystal clear!

Local Information

Visitors to Paxos are always captivated by its picturesque simplicity and easy pace of life. A morning stroll to the baker for fresh, warm bread, then off in the boat, or on foot, for a relaxing day at the beach, back in the evening for dinner at one of the harbourside tavernas, and a romantic walk home beneath a sky of brilliant stars.

The crystal clear water of the Ionian islands has to be witnessed first hand, it is said that the sea is so blue that it reflects on the undersides of the seagulls as they fly across the water!

It is possible to charter a yacht or motor boat to lunch on the white sands of the nearby island of Anti Paxos (2km). Exploring the hidden beauty in every bay by boat is a real treat, drop the anchor and swim through the mysterious caves that dot the coastline.

There is scuba diving, great snorkelling and some gentl water sports in the north of the island.

The local restaurants are of a high standard serving both traditional Greek food and the most delicious Italian cuisine.

Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure. White pebble bays on the east coast and majestic white cliffs and deep caves on the west give families a range of things to explore. For the “intrepid” there are walks through flower filled olive groves, gentle fishing, snorkelling and diving.

Our View

This is a proper seaside delight! The owner has got it perfectly right and exactly how you would imagine a house to be on a sleepy greek island. Decorated in clean blues and whites it gives off a really airy feel and the owners’ good taste oozes from every corner. From the delicious sky-blue covers inside and out to the cream Smeg fridge in the kitchen, a mixture of retro and contemporary in magazine style.

It was a very hot day when we visited but the house made us feel instantly calm with a lovely breeze coming from the sea below. The view from above the pool is lovely – a house not entirely on its own, there are a few other houses in the near vicinity, but with the sea this close who cares? Nipping into Gaios for a boat we then saw the house from the sea – and it even looked glorious from a distance.

The rooms are a good size and full of light – the bathrooms have been beautifully built, local stone and great tiles combine to create a clean space to stay clean! The views down to the sea are also to die for. This is a lovely quiet part of the island but so easy to get to the buzzy port of Gaios where you can grab your boat and head out to deep blue waters and secret coves.

Our guests love this house and we think you will too. Note we don’t think it’s the perfect place to take toddlers as there are lots of drops both inside and out.
