Son Salas is on the north west coast of Mallorca
Deia is a 10 minute drive, and has several five star restaurants including the renowed Olivo which is within the La Residencia Hotel
Palma de Mallorca is a 3 hour flight from London, fly here from all London airports and many of the UK’s regional airports.
The house is a 40 minute drive from the airport.
Car Hire recommended.
There is a lot of walking in and around the Deia area. Many walks actually start in the beautiful village itself.
You will not want for something to do (day or night) in this seemingly sleepy village. Just spend a few hours here and you will see that it is a vibrant, working local village full of artists, writers and musicians.
The restaurants in the immediate area are among the best on the island (indeed visitors to Mallorca ensure that a visit to Deia is top of their list).
Restaurants include Sebastian’s, Jaime’s, Dorada and the Internationally renowned, El Olivo which is the 5 star restaurant attached to the Residencia Hotel.
The Hotel has a tennis court where it is possible to rent a time to play, it also has a fabulous spa – good enough to rival any in London.
Year round there are music festivals in Deia and there are endless art exhibitions in the village and at the Residencia.
The capital of Mallorca is Palma which is a wonderful place to visit during your stay, it has great shopping, lievly bars and good restaurants as well as a Gothic cathedral. The maze of narrow streets in the Arab quarter are wonderfully atmospheric at night and the royal palace is not to be missed.
The rural villages of the north west are ancient and beautiful, the local houses are all made out of the same coloured stone as the mountains so they literally disappear like a multitude of chameleons dotting the area. Deia is a beautiful place, ancient and cultural and contemporary all at once. It boasts the best restaurants on the island, indeed other tourists visit from all over the island ensuring it is always on their list of places to visit.
The Soller valley is a fabulous area of outstanding beauty just outside the port of Soller and very close to the sea. This house is on an organic olive estate.
The villa is built around a fabulous interior cobblestone courtyard with bananas, palms and kentias complete with a wonderful terrace for al fresco meals.
The house and grounds are huge and ideal for a large family group who love swimming, playing pool, ping pong or tennis. The beautiful tennis court has glorious views of the mountains and the generous owners supply guests with their own rackets and balls. They have thought of everything, even installing a shower and fridge by the court! A great local coach is available to book if the need takes you.
It’s ideal to have a second kitchen by the pool, fully decked out with beautiful views to the mountains behind. A cook will prepare a delicious lunch while you relax in comfort.
For the seasoned holiday maker this house has everything, your biggest decision will be where to sit or which view to look at while supping delicious cold white wine.
