What a glorious huge finca greeted us as we swept up the sandy road leading to this extraordinary place. Panning 20,000 square metres of garden, it is like a small village made up from several different buildings. The garden is positively brimming with tropical fruits and organic vegetables. There are views spanning 360 degrees down across the Sierra Cabrera and down to the Mediterranean Sea.
The ’village’ of Utopia has been beautifully built with Moorish undertones, an ideal place to bring a large group of family or friends. Big rooms & high ceilings create a wonderful sense of space throughout & we’ve never before seen so many different places to sit outside.
The English owner created Utopia as an eco-centre, perfectly ’at one’ with the environment and its surroundings. It is as self sufficient as possible, run as much as possible by solar power with fully stocked gardens.
There is an orchard, a lawn and a whole host of fruit trees, olive trees (one is over 1,000 years old) and tropical plants from all over the world, from as far afield as Australia and South America.
Adults and children alike will be thrilled with the exploration of the garden, shaded areas, rare and specimen plants as well as fresh seasonal produce makes up a very special place indeed.
There are grapes, peaches, bananas, avocados, guava and figs as well as many more. Different varieties of salad leaves, vegetables and herbs will inspire you into the kitchen to created delicious tomato and rocket salads!
The olive oil is freshly made on the finca every Autumn, with so many olive trees the Finca produces over 70 litres of oil every year.
