The villa was stunning with bougainvillea cascading over the terrace, beautiful views out to sea and very comfortable bedrooms. Not having to think about meals really made the holiday. The staff couldn't have been more charming, leaving flowers in our cars as we left!

Local Information

There are three restaurants very near the house, one of which stays open late and sometimes has live music and dancing.
There are many more bars, nightclubs and restaurants in Datca. Dinner by the harbour is highly recommended.

It is possible to charter a boat for the day and either “cruise” along the coast to the south or, for the more intrepid, go across to the Greek island of Symi.
Scuba diving is offered in Datca from June until October. It is possible to take the PADI test there.
There is wind surfing about 10kms from Datca.
There are 5 bicycles in the villa to use for local exploration.

The snorkelling in the bay is stunning and a must.
For those who love walking the views are spectacular both along the coast and into the hills behind the villa.
One hour west of the villa, at the tip of the peninsula, is the ancient city of Dnidus. This is one of the most romantically situated cities in Turkey. There is swimming off the beach so, after seeing the ruins, you can cool off and spend the day there.

Our View

The house has a magical situation in an unspoilt bay in South West Turkey. We visited on a beautiful Autumnal day and the sun was still blazing! The bay is still farmed with a roaming population of goats, sheep and the occasional cow, all with chiming bells round their necks.

We were welcomed by the owner’s brother who was holidaying at the house, a delicious fresh lunch was served and we were treated like royalty. We thought that the villa really felt like a home and would be¬†a glorious place to spend a week or two and comes with everything you would expect in a house of this standard including a full-time cook. A big terrace runs along the front of the house with a scattering of comfy sofas, cushions and Turkish rugs – a wonderful place to spend the warm evenings, drinking wine under the stars. The library is full of books and DVDs and there is a large plasma screen to enjoy them on. For the more energetic there is a clay tennis court and bicycles.

The decor has a strong Ottoman theme combining comfort and attention to detail with a laid back Turkish charm. Behind the villa are beautiful wild mountains while 350 metres to the front lies the peacock-blue Aegean – a mere five minute walk from the house. The four acre garden is full of beautiful old olive trees.

There is wonderful walking, swimming, snorkelling and cycling direct from the villa and two lovely beaches where one can enjoy lazy lunches, dinners or even dance the night away.
