Staying fit and healthy on holiday is easy when you know how. We can arrange yoga, walking, diving, swimming and we even have a house with a basketball court! If you want to keep with a training programme, start one or just go for a gentle wander through the olive groves we can help you get there.

Food can also be healthy and hassle-free, the local shops and fisherman’s ‘market’ are the best places to buy seasonal food and (if you’re lucky enough to have one) your cook can whip it up into something delectable and healthy.

There are some amazing walks through the olive groves, Ian Bleasdale’s well-know Walking Map of Paxos can be obtained on the island. It is the most comprehensively map of the island showing many different walks for many different abilities, now in it’s 12th edition the map is right up to date and a must for any hiker on the island.

Our favourite yoga girl on the island is Sandra, her dream-like voice will carry you away, across the Ionian Sea – she will come to the villa and her classes are tailored exactly to your needs.

When we stayed at Waterside House as a family we booked Sandra twice in the week. Each time was an hour of utter bliss and the views down to the sea from the villa where we were doing our yoga kept me going all winter long. She will arrive at the villa with all her yoga mats and any paraphernalia you might need, just pop on your shorts and a t shirt, grab some water and you’re ready. She taught me some wonderful new stretches and was very well informed. Her practise she takes very seriously and is better than some of the great London yoga teachers.

Swimming is a great way to stay fit and some of our houses come with huge pools that are just perfect for doing lengths in. Others are near enough to the beach so you can wander down to the sea and swim before breakfast (on Paxos you can sometimes see dolphins at sunrise which would be an amazing swimming experience!). But if floating in the warm sea is more your thing look no further, Paxos is just the spot for a little relaxation, the chilled vibe you feel as you arrive on the island permeates everywhere.

If you want an amazing, healthy lunch Paxos is just the spot.

There are salads galore all over the island, amazing tomatoes and delicious Greek salads with the freshest of ingredients. If you like the healthy stuff but your kids would prefer a burger and chips we can find you just the right beach-side taverna.

Paxos is one of those incredible little places with something for everyone. Small but full of educated, fit and healthy people who ensure others can enjoy in the good things. Delight in the ingredients, delve into the ancient art of yoga and walk through the olive groves. You never know, you might come home fitter than you were when you left…
