Local Information

Paxos is a little bit of the Caribbean in Europe, the crystal clear water of the Ionian has to be seen to be believed. You can rent a boat and go for lunch on Anti Paxos (2km) with its spectacular white, sandy beaches. Take a cold bag filled with refreshing drinks and explore the hidden beauty in every bay, drop the anchor and swim through the mysterious caves that dot the coastline. The local restaurants are of a high standard serving both traditional Greek food and some Italian cuisine.

Do also visit the other pretty villages: Loggos on the east coast of the island and the small town of Lakka to the north.

Spend an evening at The Sunset Bar in Erimitis looking west over the Ionian sea and down towards the dramatic white cliffs

Our View

We love this house and have visited it may times, it is welcoming and comfortable- a delightful place to stay in the South of the island.

Inside, the house is totally charming; white washed stone walls, painted floor boards and antique furniture. The bedrooms are small but full of character and very cosy- forget super sleek minimalist holiday villas- this is better, and you will be dreaming of it all winter.

It is the outside areas that make this house really special though. Built in the traditional Paxiot stone and surrounded by secretive gardens filled with rustling olive trees, the setting is wonderfully romantic. Imagine the gentle humming of cicadas to serenade you as you settle down with an ice cold glass of wine in the evening. The big pool area is great for kids wanting to splash around and various places to sit in the shade make the perfect spot for reading a book.

The house is in a fantastic spot for families with teenagers as it is within easy access to Gaios and the gentle nightlife there.
