Local Information

A short 20 minute drive towards the sea will bring you to  the fabulous Galle fort – these charm filled cobbled streets of the ancient fort are unforgettable.  Galle and the surrounding beaches has something for the whole group. Dripping in rich history and culture, traditional food and craftsmen ship can be found a plenty but throw in some swanky cocktail bars and eclectic art galleries it all takes a different shape! Don’t miss out on some fabulous sight seeing with whale watching, temple ruins and Safari all within 2hrs drive.

Our View

Just a 20 minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of Galle and the old fort, Armitage Hill transports you to a spacious, dreamy, zen-like state. Greeted with the traditional ice-cold coconut water and cooling towels, we drift through the art and sculpture filled walls and rooms.
Its like a film set, the house is a true experience. The main part of the house is 200 years old and was lovingly and famously developed by Architect Kerry Hill. This house is rather a marvel. White wash walls, dark wood and deep jewel tone tiles guide the way to heavily scented pleasure gardens. Peacocks wave and the long elegant pool beckons.
Bedrooms look onto a jungle of exotic flora and fauna and the air is filled with the sounds of the jungle.
This house is a lifetime experience.
