Fiskardo is a really lovely picturesque harbour village on the Northern tip of Kefalonia. Of all the villages on this large and diverse island, Fiskardo is unique in that it was left virtually undamaged during the earthquake of 1953 which ruined most of the historic buildings on Kefalonia.
The tavernas are so beautifully looked after, with their array of red, blue, white and green chairs, each taverna looks more idyllic than the last. The summer visitors come by boat and bring a little sophistication and glamour to Fiskardo which ensures its success as Kefalonia’s favourite town.
Traditional Kefalonian fishing boats moor alongside the more extravagant temporary visitors during the summer. If you are early enough you can buy freshly caught fish. Otherwise a stroll around the harbour will take you on a tour of some of the most luxurious yachts. Many of these are owned by the rich and famous who are attracted to Kefalonia by the tranquillity of Fiskardo.
All five of these villas have been perfectly positioned to experience the best views on the island. The cliff side perch gives guests a bird’s eye view of the northwest of Kefalonia and the beautiful Ionian Sea. When designing these villas, the owners wanted to indulge in contemporary architecture, while keeping elements of traditional Kefalonian typology. The main point of focus for these villas was to combine the old with the new, the east with the west, to bring aspects from all over the world with different colours and materials.
