Local Information

The nearest town of Bruton has fast become the coolest destination in the South West. Always a mecca for artists and creatives, gallerists Hauser and Wirth added the final polish when they opened a fabulous contemporary art gallery on the site of a disused 17th century farm.
Bruton high street is home to a plethora of fascinating independent shops and restaurants and a beautiful river walk takes you on a circuit of the historic town and outlying countryside.

The Newt in Somerset is a newly opened estate with magnificent walled gardens, a glasshouse, farm shop, restaurants and cafe. A wonderful day out- not to be missed.

Babington House is a short drive away.

For children there is the Mill on the Brue outdoor activity centre, archery, rafting, canoeing and abseiling are just are few of the activities on offer.

The Stourhead estate- filming location for ‘Pride and Predjudice’ is a short drive away – the famous lake and grounds are not to be missed in autumn when the landscape is ablaze with colour.

Our View

This is a charming house that has been meticulously renovated. A winding gravel driveway leads through the beautifully landscaped gardens and over a babbling brook towards the main house. Children will love the huge paddock with various outdoor activities.
Inside, the rooms are generous in size and extremely comfortable. Luscious sofas are dotted around the main living areas, with art deco style ornaments and antique furniture.
The separate accommodation in the barn is great for 2 families wanting their own space or for large families with grown up children.
