On the border between Umbria and Tuscany, the house is within an hour’s drive of many well known towns from both regions, with facilities for shopping, culture and art.
Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake in central Italy and is only a short drive away from the house. The nearest town is Castiglione del Lago, a lovely and lively town situated on a peninsula next to Lake Trasimeno. There is lots to offer in terms of shops and restaurants- teenagers and young adults will love the gentle buzzy nightlife. On the lakeside of the town there is a beach which you can swim from, the shallow waters mean it stays a lovely temperature during the summer months. There are also a couple of cafes and plenty of restaurants all along the waterfront making it easy for families to spend a lazy day.
Take a ferry boat out to two of the lake’s islands Maggiore and Polvese. Kept mainly as nature reserves they have only a handful of inhabitants and a couple of restaurants serving delicious freshly caught fish.
From the house walk to Lake Montepulciano, a fishing lake (no water sports), good for walking or running around and it has the most spectacular sunsets. Montepulciano is close by, famous for its excellent wines and is a lovely town to visit. Montepulciano is perched on a hilltop and can be seen from the villa’s terrace.
Pozzuolo, the nearest village has a pizzeria, tabac and a couple of small bars.
Gioiella has a small grocery shop, cafe and a pharmacy.
Cortona is a little further away, but still near (‘Under the Tuscan sun’ was filmed here). A historic town with perfect shopping facilities, nice terraces and many good restaurants. Bring back some wonderful painted ceramics which the region is famous for.
Arezzo can also be recommended. A wonderful province town, with high quality shops, the best restaurants and history. The perfect town for a day trip. Every first weekend of the month a very large antique/flee market is organised.
Perugia and Siena are less than an hours drive away. Siena has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site, the ‘Palio’ or medieval horse race around the town happens twice a year in July and August and is not to be missed.
Casa Binami is a properly special place, this is a stylish villa designed with every detail considered. An exceptional home.
Restored and redesigned in 2016, we are delighted to be able to offer this beautifully converted farmhouse to our clients. The original character of the house has been brought back to life and the contemporary interior design fits perfectly into the old structure.
The kitchen has been elegantly decorated in differing shades of grey and this very spacious area is the perfect place to come together as a group. Two large glass doors give access to the garden and pool area, great for keeping an eye on children. you can rest assured that all appliances are of the highest quality. The living areas are bright and light – and, most importantly, super comfortable.
The bedrooms are airy and stylishly decorated, all have exposed beams (some are beautifully lime washed), high ceilings, individual en suite bathrooms and crisp bed linen. Each bedroom has a character all of it’s own, the owners have used stunning linens and bright rugs in vibrant colours which seem to bring out the best of each room.
There is a dining table on the terrace facing the pool with beautiful pendant lights hanging above, a great spot for a delicious supper and a glass of local wine. The large pool is fully fenced and has a diving board, this, along with the games room facing the pool area make this house great for families with children. And with pets welcomed as well, the whole family can come!
Perfectly positioned between Castiglione del Lago and Montepulciano (perfect for wine tours and the most delicious restaurants), you could spend many days exploring Umbria or Tuscany.
