Activities; from tango or flamenco lessons, yoga and pilates, to tennis coaching and cookery schools there is something for everyone.
An excellent tennis club, tennis courts with coaching available are a 5 minute drive away. Golf courses are a 50 minute drive away in San Pedro. Cycling has become very popular in Andalucia and bikes can be hired in nearby Ronda.
The property is a 15 minute walk into Arriate, a bustling village with plenty of shops and cafes. One of the oldest towns in Spain, Ronda, is a 10 minute drive away. A typical Andalucian town with white washed houses, traditional olives groves and surrounded by pine forests is set off by it’s dramatic location atop a deep mountain gorge with historic defences. The oldest bullring in Spain is in Ronda and well worth a visit.
There is kayaking on the reservoir, horse riding and vineyard visits.
It’s difficult to imagine a more tranquil spot. This renovated farmhouse is surely paradise itself – stroll through the five acres of gardens, fields and orchards and take in the view of the magnificent mountain range beyond. The house is nestled in the hills near Ronda with lovely views.
Inside, walls are painted in soft greens and blues, with original wooden features and rich furnishings giving the place a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. The bedrooms are romantic with soft drapes and warm lighting and the main bathroom has rippled marble tiling.
What we love about this house is the detail – there are lovely linen cushions sitting on an old, beautifully-proportioned wooden settle, a glorious collection of old, local baskets in the kitchen and original beams exposed in the bedrooms. There are hammocks everywhere, brightly coloured wall hangings and double doors opening onto the terraces from most of the rooms.
This house is brilliant for 2 or 3 families wishing to holiday together. The swimming pool is a little way away from the main house and is gated, so great for parents of small children.
