Car hire recommended
Only 10 minutes by car, Lecce is a wonderful city that offers superb restaurants (up to Michelin Star quality), great bars and a culture that is open and friendly to all ages, it is also a University City. Lecce is rightfully known as the Florence of the South. Set between the warm Ionian and Adriatic Seas, there are great places to swim or relax at beachside bars or seafood restaurants on either coast.
Castro is a great seafront town, with it’s historic 16thC castle telling stories of the splendour of the past. The charming streets are lined with shops, bars and restaurants. Boat hire can be found here, or for those who prefer a skipper, take a tour and dip in and out of the majestic caves along the coat of Salento.
Santa Maria al Bagno is 25 minutes by car on the Ionian coast, and has plenty of delicious lunch spots.
A stunning, architect-designed house, perfectly positioned between the Ionian and Adriatic coasts and only a stone throw from Lecce. The house has a vast sense of space, and offers immaculate yet welcoming accommodation to explore the best of Puglia.
