Corfu, famed for it’s glorious greenery and luscious interior, has become an immensely popular and luxurious destination. This divine island offers stunning beaches, great night life, delectable restaurants and boat hopping between small and quaint tavernas meaning that even the most restless of pleasure seeker will be happy!
The north east coast is full of outstanding bays and white pebbled coves, higher up, away from the coast the interior is home to birds of prey, rare flora and rural simplicity. Water sports a-plenty can be found on Kalami. This is a fine place to spend a family holiday or with a close group of friends, potter into town for delicious local delicacies, take a small boat from to a tiny taverna for a long, lazy lunch of fresh fish and come home to a delicious dinner under the stars.
One of the greatest pleasures of this gorgeous, wooded stretch of coast is that the sea-fronted properties are so accessible by boat. You can spend your mornings stopping off to swim at one or other pebbly cove, admiring the views of mainland Albania before seeking out a new taverna for lunch. Most of the tavernas have their own wooden jetties and their owners will wave you in, catch your rope and tie up your boat before handing you their menu.
If your idea of heaven is staying in someone’s home, walking distance to the sea and restaurants and bars then this is the perfect spot for you!
This newly-built house is perfectly positioned on the water just on the edge of the buzzy little town of Kassiopi in the north east of Corfu.
The house is beautiful inside with much thought having gone into the interiors. A really big, double-height sitting room has huge doors out onto the terrace, it is painted white with beautiful furniture, large stone lamps and touches of calm blue throughout. A good modern kitchen and slick bathrooms are the sign of a good house. Bedrooms are immaculately finished with beautiful bright cushions on the bed and lovely areas outside each one for sitting and relaxing after a long, tiring day on a boat.
Separated from the sea by a small track, you can walk down to the bottom of the garden and through a wooden door to the beach where you can enjoy your days lolling in the crystal clear Ionaian. The lucky ones will swim with dolphins in the morning and enjoy moonlit dips at night. The large swimming pool is just below the house, one end has a great ‘lounging’ area which is perfect for little ones or big lazy ones.
There are lots of different places to choose to sit in the garden – both shady or sunny and with beautiful, established gardens behind the house this is a place you’ll be dreaming of all winter long.
The perfect family house – there are gates both inside the house and also by the pool (for maximum safety for young children). Teenagers will love the position of this house, they can wander into Kassiopi at night and enjoy the gentle night life there. And the large teenage room has lounge seating and a huge TV… you will certainly be very popular with them if you book this house.
The house has great green credentials too, with an organic vegetable garden for guests to use and an air-cooling system in place – so you know you’ve got the environment covered while you stay cool. With a gym and a spa – this house is great for everyone, we really did love it, and we think you will too.
