Menorca is the most relaxed of the Balearic islands. It is a great destination for a family holiday with some of Europe’s best beaches.
Menorca is famous for its great sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding. The best water-sports are in Fornells in the North East of the island, here there is an almost landlocked lagoon which offers safe water-sports with great windsurfing and sailing schools and excellent water-skiing.
There are many prehistoric sites on Menorca as well as historical sites of interest where there are ancient monuments and signs of settlements. This wonderfully wild and natural island has remained largely unspoilt, boasting a rich diversity of fauna and flora, picturesque villages and authentic laid-back charm.
The main town of Mahon has a wonderful traditional charm about it, there is a natural harbour full of bobbing boats and a yacht club as well as a great cafe life. Here there are wonderful fruit and fish markets. The streets are Georgian lending an air of grandeur to the place, but don’t be fooled! This is as Spanish and relaxed as it comes. The locals are incredibly welcoming and there is a great choice of bars and restaurants to suit everyone. The natural harbour is the second biggest in the world and therefore attracts some of the most famous yachts which makes an evening paseo something of a spectacle. The harbour has a good choice of restaurants and bars. The town has a rich history and some fabulous architecture. Mayonnaise is said to have been invented in Mahon (Mahonnaise) and a delicious cheese is named after the city.
Just WOW – we could not believe our eyes when we first saw this glorious finca. Nestled in an exclusive and perfectly private position in 60 hectares of beautiful Menorcan countryside, this villa is surrounded by nature and a true personification of luxurious Mediterranean living.
Lovingly restored, this former farm house still retains a rustic charm with painted stone and beams, a lush vegetable garden, orchard and free-range hens (meaning wonderfully fresh eggs for breakfast!)
The ground floor pays perfect homage to the building’s history and former splendour, with vaulted ceilings and white-washed walls. The spaces are flooded with light, making it so open and spacious.
The first floor packs more of a punch, with a richer palette of colours and a real emphasis on the shared spaces. You’ll feel so incredibly at ease here, with even the largest group still feeling that they’ve plenty of space to spread out and relax in. On the top floor, the decor is stripped back and simplistic, a real refuge from the rest of the house, and each room throughout the property is wholly unique, adorned with richly-coloured authentic tiles, beautifully soft fabrics and every window enjoys a stunning view of the Menorcan countryside, with either a sunrise or sunset visible from all..
The bedrooms are utter bliss, king-size beds furnished with the highest quality linens throughout, expertly curated to fulfil your every want. The children will rejoice in the dormitory-style bedroom sleeping up to 6 little ones, the perfect week-long sleepover!
Outside, the large swimming pool is surrounded by the stunning landscaped gardens, complete with outdoor kitchen and BBQ, Pentanque court and table tennis to keep everyone entertained. There are five (!) spacious terraces on varying levels, one offering a magnificent sunset over the rolling Menorcan hills – perfect for an aperitif! After dinner drinks can be enjoyed in the indoor bar, with its green marble bar surface, library and card game table.
There is simply so much on offer at this incredible finca – from horse-riding to water-sports, table tennis to yoga under the stars.. there’s even an indoor gym and a private tennis court for those that want to stay active even whilst on holiday.
