Local Information

Corfu is a glorious heaven of relaxation under the sun and floating in the clear blue Ionian sea, punctuated by delicious lunches on the beach.

The highlight of a lunch at a beach side taverna must be seeking out a new one every day, pulling up in your little boat to one of the many jetties where the owner (or a waiter) will wave you in, catch your rope and tie up your boat before handing you their menu and leading you to a table.

Corfu has to be seen from the sea to be truly believed and appreciated.  Take a boat to find the more secluded coves on the north east coast that you can only get to by boat. Enjoy the beautiful beaches or snorkelling in one of the many bays before a sun downer at one of the lovely tavernas nearby. Boat home again and dine on your villa terrace in the silky night air.

From Avlaki beach you can enjoy dinghy sailing, water-skiing, paraponting, scuba diving and snorkelling as well as many other water sports.  You can also take a horse for a ride through the quiet countryside.

Kalami is a pretty little bay with a collection of houses – this village was made famous by the Durrell brothers who both wrote books when they stayed at The White House here. Prospero’s Cell being one of the most well-known.
Krouzeri has a long pebbly beach, surrounded by olive groves, perfect for swimming and an array of water sports. Beyond lies the small secluded Kaminaki beach. San Stefano harbour with its popular collection of restaurants is only a few minutes away by boat. Agni is another lovely little village. In greek Agni means unspoilt which describes this bay perfectly! It may be small offering only three tavernas and a few other buildings but a beautiful place to catch some sun and a dip in the clear waters. You are able to hire boats from Agni and then moor it at the pontoon below the house.

The island has a rich history and plays an important role in Greece’s ancient history. Visit cosmopolitan Corfu town, shop in its narrow streets and enjoy a drink on the ’Liston’.  Alternatively visit its various museums (Archaeological & Byzantine) and palaces.  Visit the Byzantine castle of Angelokastro for a spot of history and drama – imaginative children love it.

The tavernas are of a great standard, lovely to sit by the sea at night in one of the many tavernas we are happy to recommend.

Our View

The views from this amazing setting are utterly breathtaking, so much so that we were stopped in our tracks. So near the sea and in a great part of the island. It couldn’t get much better.
And that was all before we even opened the door. So much thought has evidently gone into each and every room and it really shows.

There are three areas for accommodation, making this the perfect location for more than one family, ideal if you want to get away from a big group but perfect for coming together during the day. The largest is the upper house just above the swimming pool.

Each house boasts cool, subdued colours on the walls and furnishings. Large, comfortable beds, fluffy towels and stunning finishes. The outside space is generous, lots of places to sit in both the sun and the shade. The stunning swimming pool has shallow steps, perfect for little people to splash in, but also a great length for a morning swim!

Under the terrace of the main house, with its own access is a large studio. This houses an open plan bedroom cum sitting room with a small kitchen area. This is the perfect place to put teenagers and would be ideal as an overflow.

Below the house is a pathway which runs down through the garden to the coastal footpath leading to any one of the lovely seaside villages. 15 mins walk will take you to beach at Agni in one direction – and in half that time you will reach Krouzeri in the other. Alternatively follow the path for a couple of minutes to a private jetty and swimming platform where you can moor a boat for the duration of your stay.
