Corfu, famed for it’s glorious greenery and luscious interior, has become an immensely popular and luxurious destination. Often attracting the A list, this divine island offers stunning beaches, great night life, delectable restaurants and boat hopping between small and quaint tavernas meaning that even the most restless of pleasure seeker will be happy!
The north east coast is full of outstanding bays and white pebbled coves, higher up, away from the coast the interior is home to birds of prey, rare flora and rural simplicity. Water sports a-plenty can be found on many of the local beaches.
Nearby St Stephano is a simple and pretty harbour with seafront tavernas and a delightful beach. The tavernas are lively, day and night and there is also a cocktail bar if the mood takes you.
For the teenagers the night life in Kassiopi is a short drive up the coast.
This is a fine place to spend a family holiday or with a close group of friends, potter into town for delicious local delicacies, take a small boat from to a tiny taverna for a long, lazy lunch of fresh fish and come home to a delicious dinner under the stars.
One of the greatest pleasures of this gorgeous, wooded stretch of coast is that the sea-fronted properties are so accessible by boat. You can spend your mornings stopping off to swim at one or other pebbly cove, admiring the views of mainland Albania before seeking out a new taverna for lunch. All the tavernas have their own wooden jetties and their owners will wave you in, catch your rope and tie up your boat before handing you their menu.
Take the skippered boat out for a day, a wonderful itinerary can be planned ahead of time; visit the stunning nearby islands of Paxos and Antipaxos where you can have lunch before coming back to Corfu for a sundowner at one of the wonderful seaside tavernas.
Views down to the sea are pretty much unparalleled in this part of Corfu – the drive up as you approach the houses gives a small clue of what you will experience but nothing can prepare you for the amazing view once you reach the terrace.
This is a unique opportunity to rent the three wonderful houses together making it the perfect option for large groups. The two smaller houses are next door to one another, and each has its own gardens and access with dedicated and discreet parking area, yet is connected through paths across the front and back of the houses.
These two smaller houses are in turn connected to neighbouring Kalamaki House via a new large terrace with large covered and open dining areas.
The owners have great taste and have filled each house with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture giving it a fabulous feel with an emphasis on glorious comfort and style.
Bedrooms are large and spacious, bathrooms all very up to date and clean in line. The sparkling kitchen in the main house invites you to create a delicious Greek salad – don’t forget there is the possibility of a chef, so lie back with a delicious glass of something ice cold while someone else does all the hard work.
The houses have gentle landscaping around the glorious pools with breathtaking views of the sparkling Ionion sea below and the far reaching mountains of Albania.
