We had a fabulous time in this seaside house. The children loved being so near the beach and we loved having a great taverna so nearby.

Local Information

Corfu has to be seen to be believed – clear-water cloves, drifts of spring flowers and scents of herbs, wild orchids, tortoises, Venetian belfries, winding village streets, donkeys laden with kindling, imposing country manor houses in lush olive groves, tiny chapels with a solitary candle burning inside – all this is here.  Alongside are cosmopolitan classical concerts, opera and theatre, chic and sophisticated shops, sports facilities of every kind, superb swimming, and endless wining and dining destinations from the simplest to fairly expensive.
The island of Corfu has fabulously turqoise seas and is always a delightful place to spend a week or two.  Take a boat to find the more secluded coves on the north east coast that you can only get to by boat. Enjoy the beautiful beaches or snorkelling in one of the many bays before a sun downer at one of the lovely tavernas nearby. Boat home again and dine on your villa terrace in the silky night air.

From Avlaki beach you can enjoy dinghy sailing, water-skiing, paraponting, scuba diving and snorkelling as well as many other water sports.  You can also take a horse for a ride through the quiet countryside.

Our View

We visited the house on a blisteringly hot day in October and it could not be in a better position. The house itself has beautiful interiors and a huge garden (huge!) – walking out of the gate takes you to a small road which leads down to the water in under a minute.
There is a small taverna on the water which has good food, drinks and lots of ice cream for hungry children!

The huge swimming pool is great for cooling off – views down to the sea from the pool are wonderful and children and adults alike will be happy to spend hours here enjoying the water. The garden is below the pool and is planted with some of the most stunning plants we’ve ever seen on a Greek island.

The inside of the house is fabulous – lots of calm, French painted furniture, stunning upholstered stools and lovely cushions adorn bedrooms. There are huge cupboards in the bedrooms, ideal for storage, stunning rugs and  ceiling fans as well as slippers and dressing gowns.
Some of the bedrooms have a door out onto the terrace where there is shaded seating… a lovely place to sit and read in the morning with a cup of coffee.

The bathrooms (every bedroom has its own) are clean-lined, white and full of delicious lotions, potions and fluffy towels!

The inside sitting room is double height and super stylish with rattan chairs which compliment the sofas.
The outside sitting room has amazing views and also has comfort in mind.

And then there’s the night club! We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw that the room below the swimming pool has a bar and decks for the inner DJ in us all. If dancing and music isn’t your thing then try the pol table or gym which are both also down here.

Wandering down to the lovely Kerasia beach could not be easier, and keeping your boat at the jetty by the taverna means that you could be on the water within minutes. A fabulous house in a fabulous spot. All in all this is fast becoming our favourite house!
