Paxos is just off the south tip of Corfu and is incredibly unspoilt and undiscovered. Many famililies come back year after year and we always say no one ever visits just once.
All ages love the relaxed way of life. Little children are welcome everywhere and there is enough for the teenagers to do in safe surroundings as there are quite a few buzzy bars. Visitors to the island love to hire little boats and explore the caves and jump into the crystal clear waters. There are three main villages Loggos, Lakka and Gaios packed with delicious little tavernas serving grilled fish and fresh salads.
The island is a little bit of the Caribbean in Europe. It is so easy to rent a boat and go for lunch on Anti Paxos with its spectacular white, sandy beaches. Take a cold bag filled with refreshing drinks and explore the hidden beauty in every bay, drop the anchor and swim through the mysterious caves that dot the coastline. The local restaurants are of a high standard serving both traditional and contemporary Greek food as well as lots of Italian cuisine.
Spend an evening at The Sunset Bar in Erimitis looking west over the Ionian sea and down towards the dramatic white cliffs.
This house is really a lovely and romantic little spot.
The italian owners have fabulous style and everywhere you look inside the house and in the gardens there are artistic glorious bits and pieces.
The pool is very large and inviting and has lots of space around it to relax and lounge or, for the more active there is a ping pong table.
There is a great outdoor kitchen with BBQ near to the shaded dining area where you can happily spend star encrusted nights after a lovely day out on the water. Boats are so easy to hire and this villa is the perfect place to return to in the evening to relax watching the sun set.
The house is set in a clearing in the most peaceful olive grove so even the height of the summer you will have your own oasis of calm. There is a great taverna nearby where people flock to from all over the island to watch the sunset. Once the crowds have left you can stay and have a delicious supper in the memorably warm glow of the recently set sun.
