Local Information

The utter drama and magnificence of the Alhambra in Granada is legendary – a good day trip from the villa. There are also many fortified Moorish towns and villages in the area with outstanding relics, mosques and gardens displaying exquisite taste from a highly cultured and civilised people.

The breathtaking city of Ronda is only 10 minutes away! The town sits astride a spectacular gorge and is a classic example of a fortified Moorish city – the old defensive wall, the area’s baths, mosques converted to churches by the Christians, and many other sites of archaeological interest. With the oldest bullring in Spain, Ronda justly claims to be the home of bullfighting.

From the annual April Feria in Seville to the Festival de Jerez, dedicated to Flamenco, there are festivals throughout the year devoted to traditional Andalucian dance and music.

The lush Grazalema National Park, which has some of the most wonderful walking, cycling and horse riding, is a 15 minute drive Here too can be found some of the famous ’white villages’ (Pueblos Blancos) from Zahara to the very well known Grazalema itself. Many others, including Arcos, Setenil, Gaucin and Casares are all within an easy journey and well worth exploring.

Nearby activities include cycling, swimming in lakes, riding, walking, tennis, racing car driving, hot air ballooning as well as exploring Roman ruins, Moorish remains, Paleolithiac caves, museums, art galleries and the architectural Jewel that is Ronda.

Our View

This is the perfect house for a large group – come to this part of Spain to enjoy a fabulous holiday in the comfort of this beautifully-appointed house.

This glorious converted cortijo lies in a private 14 acre estate with wonderful views of the Grazalema National Park. The garden is exceptional with rolling lawns and well established trees.

Down one side of the house is a shaded terrace covered in a colonnade style, sit here morning or evening and enjoy the views across the garden and to the paddocks beyond, a glorious place to have breakfast!

The pool area is particularly special – there are two covered pool houses which are both covered in Caribbean-style palms, comfy sofas and chairs, a bar and a huge table for poolside dining. This is certainly where you will spend most of your time – hammocks abound and the huge comfortable sunbeds mean that you are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting your favourite spot. The outside kitchen is as well-equipped as most people’s inside kitchen!

Inside the house does not disappoint either, with 7 beautiful bedrooms (all but one are en suite) you can bring a large group and really spread out! The double beds are king size, you’ll find fluffy towels in the bathrooms, cosy dressing gowns in the bedrooms and much more besides. Generosity positively oozes out of every corner. The shelves are packed with novels and the bedrooms are sumptuously furnished.

There are endless opportunities to relax in the house which has been so carefully thought out – you can even have yoga lessons by the pool if the mood takes you!

People just love this house – we’ve found a gem here and we urge you to try it!
