The pace of life on Paxos is unhurried and above all else, chilled. You will be met with genuine, friendly Greek hospitality at its best. Visitors to Paxos are always captivated by its picturesque simplicity and an easy pace of life. A morning stroll to the baker for fresh, warm bread, then off in the boat, or on foot, for a relaxing day at the beach, back in the evening for dinner at one of the harbourside tavernas, and a romantic walk home beneath a sky of brilliant stars.
Warm seas and big sunsets make Paxos a fabulous destination that still hasn’t been spoiled by the influx of too many tourists. There are white pebble bays on the east coast and majestic white cliffs and deep caves on the west which give guests a range of things to explore. There are walks through flower filled olive groves, gentle fishing, snorkelling and diving.
Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure -with a fierce passion for quality and tradition together with some very hip laid-back bars and tavernas.
Boats are the best way to discover the beautiful coastline. Charter a yacht or motorboat and cruise round the island or hop over to Antipaxos. Moor the boat in the shallow waters & swim ashore for lunch in a beach taverna or dive for sea urchins with your captain.
The island is small making it easy to visit all three of the villages on the island – Gaios, Lakka & Loggos. They have wonderful shops for clothes and presents.
And we haven’t even mentioned the amazing swimming!
This house is a brilliant new addition to our portfolio, the Paxiot owner has lovingly overseen all the details and it really shows. We visited on a bright September day and the house was full of light. The bedrooms are downstairs which help to keep them cool in the heat of summer and each has an en suite bathroom. The owner has kept the colour palette cool and modern with soft linen throws and bamboo lighting. Upstairs the open plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room has double aspect windows, looking out to sea on one side and into the garden on the other. Off the sitting area is a large shaded balcony, perfect for a long, lazy lunch and game of cards.
Outside, children will love the huge amount of space to run around and the generous sized pool for plenty of splashing! For grown ups there is an outdoor kitchen with all the tools including a BBQ, pizza oven, glasses and plates.
The house is perfectly situated for exploring the island, there are a couple of restaurants within easy walking distance and for older teenagers Gaios is only 35 minutes on foot.
