Local Information

Paxos is a glorious island with endless olive groves and warm waters, just a short one hour boat transfer from Corfu. The island boasts some of the bluest waters in Europe, you would be forgiven for dreaming that you were in the Caribbean.

There is no airport on the island which has enabled Paxos to retain its simplicity and there is something very pure about the place.

Mass tourism has certainly not reached this idyllic spot, the tavernas are properly local but, due the attraction of Italian visitors in recent years has improved the standard of food. Enjoy delicious home made pasta, glorious salads and scrumptious fresh fish in great surroundings.

Nearby Orkos beach is a beautiful and quiet pebble beach sheltered between two sea cliffs. Take a boat to visit the white sands of Anti Paxos for the day – book lunch on the beach there and leave your boat bobbing just a few metres away in the blue bay – there is no marina in Anti Paxos, just drop your anchor and swim ashore!

Lakka is the northern port of Paxos, a horseshoe shaped bay with surrounding hills covered in olive and cypress trees. The bay is sheltered and has a good choice of waterfront bars and tavernas. For cocktail lovers, there is the trendy Ben’s Bar on Monodendri beach, with decking and dancing at sunset.

Those who visit Paxos go back time and time again.

Our View

Our first impressions of intrigue and excitement were fulfilled as we explored this magical and unique hamlet of houses. The owner has simply thought of every detail, with each of the six traditional and creative stone houses like an Aladdin’s cave of eclectic and beautiful things.

The main building is Afroditi’s house with a sumptuous sitting room and large terrace where everyone can come together to eat. At Afroditi’s you will find a combination of two bathing pools with sloped edges, and a fabulous and fun tent next to the pool for evening drinks. Guest bedrooms are all located in the remaining five houses, dotted around the grounds, every room is individually designed to a very high standard with its own personalised linen and towels, and each house has a private outside space and pool, this has to be the perfect villa for holidaying with other families.

As you wander around the grounds the owner’s passion for plants and flowers is clear, with tumbling jasmine and plumbago amongst a huge variety of other flowers growing everywhere, it’s quite a maze but you’ll soon get your bearings.

There are three golf buggy’s that staff will use to drive you to the top of the path for the bathing platform, making it an adventure just getting to the beach… the view from the top of the sea path is just incredible.

This is bohemian style of the highest quality – immaculate, with starched sheets and a butler who will look after your every need. We have absolutely no doubt that you will feel incredibly well looked after here!
