Corfu Town has so much to see and enjoy: historic buildings, architectural gems, excellent shopping, fine cafes, bars and restaurants. In high summer, some of the world’s most exciting yachts call in here.
Kassiopi is a pretty resort, once a remote fishing village, now much beloved of holidaymakers. It boasts shops, bars, restaurants, medical services and a harbour, all overlooked by an ancient fortress dating back to Roman times.
The villa itself is located in Nissaki, about 25 km from Corfu Town. Centred, like most Greek villages, around its church and local cafeneion, it offers a range of services, with a selection of mini-markets, bars restaurants and bakery. Side roads lead down to a number of small bays, most of which are invisible from the main road.
From the moment we saw this beautiful villa, we couldn’t wait to share it with our clients.
During the course of the lengthy excavations involved in carving this spectacular property out of the limestone hillside, a huge stalactite was revealed resembling some fantastic creature.
Following the walkways and paths of the rose-pink stone that was revealed during the excavations, guests will discover for themselves that these gardens hold many secrets. From the intimacy of the Jacuzzi, in its own pavilion, to the peace and privacy of the outdoor seating and sunbathing terraces.
There are two outdoor bars and a beautiful al fresco dining area under a wisteria-draped pergola, surrounded by a lawn to enjoy evening drinks and dinner with friends.
Hire a boat and moor it at the jetty, just a gentle stroll from the villa. Here you will also find ladder access to swim directly off the rocks into the beautiful Ionian sea.
Perhaps the most beautiful feature of the gardens though, is the breath taking swimming pool, boasting 180 degree views over sea. Designed to resemble a natural rock pool, the 25 metre long freshwater infinity pool is freeform and has an exposed rockface all along one side.
Rest assured, the beauty of this villa does not end with the exquisite outdoors. Niris is a fine example of modern architecture, that complements the grandeur of its setting without competing with it. Walls that are almost entirely fashioned from glass, balconies with invisible dividers, all to ensure that stunning view does not go a miss. Inside, the house is decorated in muted tones that echo the natural textures of its materials. Pale stone walls, glossy oak floors and beautiful exposed ceiling beams, painted white in traditional Corfiot style.
We just can’t wait for you to see this wonderful villa for yourselves.
