Local Information

Pitcombe Barn was originally a part of the Hadspen Estate now The Newt, Somerset and there is a beautiful 20 minute walk across fields and footpaths directly from the house. The Newt Farmshop is the closest shop by foot and it’s heavenly to walk over for morning coffee or lunch in one of the restaurants.
The nearest town of Bruton has fast become the coolest destination in the South West. Always a mecca for artists and creatives, gallerists Hauser and Wirth added the final polish when they opened a fabulous contemporary art gallery on the site of a disused 17th century farm.
Bruton high street is home to a plethora of fascinating independent shops and restaurants and a beautiful river walk takes you on a circuit of the historic town and outlying countryside.
Babington House is a short drive away.
For children there is the Mill on the Brue outdoor activity centre, archery, rafting, canoeing and abseiling are just are few of the activities on offer.
The Stourhead estate- filming location for ‘Pride and Predjudice’ is a short drive away – the famous lake and grounds are not to be missed in autumn when the landscape is ablaze with colour.

Our View

We were just completely blown away when we visited this house. The panoramic views are incredible!
An old converted barn with a magnificent hallway encircled with traditional English country gardens to the front and a French style courtyard looking over farmland to the rear. There’s a lovely out door dining area for grown ups to while away long summer lunches whilst the children run and roll on the soft green lawns.
Inside the house, each room has been creatively designed with homely and quirky touches yet is still luxurious and very comfortable.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are decorated in sumptuous Farrow and Ball colours, each room has its own individual feel and view. We loved the sweet, pink twin bedroom with gable roof timber looking over the garden.
Downstairs, the dining room is brilliant for family parties and we can put you in touch with a wonderful local caterer and party planner.
Being very close to the Scott Williams HQ we know this area and house very well and would be delighted to talk you through it.
