Corfu, famed for it’s glorious greenery and luscious interior, has become an immensely popular and luxurious destination. This divine island offers stunning beaches, great night life, delectable restaurants and boat hopping between small and quaint tavernas meaning that even the most restless of pleasure seeker will be happy!
The north east coast is full of outstanding bays and white pebbled coves, higher up, away from the coast the interior is home to birds of prey, rare flora and rural simplicity. Water sports a-plenty can be found on many of the local beaches.
Head to Avlaki beach, just a few minutes drive, for gentle water sports like paddle boarding, kayaking and dingy sailing. There is often a northern sea breeze in the afternoon which cools the air and makes it the perfect bay for sailing.
Nearby St Stephano is a simple and pretty harbour with seafront tavernas and a delightful beach.
For teenagers the night life in Kassiopi is only a short walk away.
This is a fine place to spend a family holiday or with a close group of friends, potter into town for delicious local delicacies, take a small boat to a tiny taverna for a long, lazy lunch of fresh fish and come home to a delicious dinner under the stars.
One of the greatest pleasures of this gorgeous, wooded stretch of coast is that you can spend your mornings on a boat, stopping off to swim at one or other pebbly cove, admiring the views of mainland Albania before seeking out a new taverna for lunch. All the tavernas have their own wooden jetties and their owners will wave you in, catch your rope and tie up your boat before handing you their menu.
Set in 4 acres of grounds with stone terraces and ancient olive groves, this family villa is beautifully maintained and has breathtaking uninterrupted sea views, yet is just 15 minutes walk down to Kassiopi harbour (longer back up!) or five minutes drive to Avlaki beach.
A traditional stone built villa, which is accessed from the parking area through an enclosed courtyard with a fountain. The gardens and grounds are expansive and offer a private and peaceful location – this is the perfect villa for a large family looking for easy access to a great choice of restaurants, bars and boutiques.
Interiors are elegant and uniquely styled with Moroccan hints, brightly painted walls, colourful bathrooms and North African rugs and soft furnishings.
The villa has four en suite bedrooms in the main house and a detached guest cottage, with twin beds and an en suite bathroom comfortably extending the accommodation to ten guests. The sitting room has a vaulted ceiling and French doors which open on to a vast covered veranda, the ideal venue for entertaining where summer evenings can be spent comfortably relaxing, watching over the twinkling lights of Kassiopi.
