Local Information

One of the Dodecanese islands scattered in the Aegean sea, Patmos has a well-known place in Greek mythology. According to legend it was once submerged under water and was only bright to life after Artemis, Selene and Apollo persuaded Zeus to lift it from the sea. Today the island has retained its historic charm as a lack of an airport have kept all but the adventurous travellers away. The season begins here is April/May with mild Mediterranean temperatures of 20 degrees reaching 30 degrees in the height of summer.
Shaped like a horseshoe, the island is scattered with beautiful coves to bathe in.

Our View

Close your eyes and think of the most picture perfect Greek island escape and this cottage is it – white washed stone walls with blue woodwork, charming garden with hammock swinging in the shade and stunning views of azure sea. This is the owners’ retreat from the hurly-burly of real life, an utter paradise.
Inside, the house has been kept simple but characterful. All on one level and with plenty of wide doors opening out onto the terrace, the main living area is flooded with bright Mediterranean sunlight. The master bedroom has the most amazing views over the volcanic landscape and a generous sized bathroom. A second good-sized double in the main house and the single bedroom in the separate stone house make this perfect for small families or couples. Outside, a well established garden surrounds the house with plenty of secret spots to relax with a book and the shaded dining terrace with comfy benches is the perfect place for a long lunch.
