Gouvia Marina is a great stopping off place for the yachties who are island hopping. It is full of shops, restaurants, bars and places to hire boats. Enjoy it in the day or evening.
Corfu Town is so close and boasts some great places to have dinner. The centre is a world heritage site with fabulous Venetian buildings, lovely shops and even a cricket pitch!
For the culture vulture or for those wanting a little more than just beach, there is so much to see in this part of Corfu. Opposite Gouvia beach is Ipapanti Church.
There are castle ruins and Greek churches, museums and forts.
If all that sight seeing is too much, take a break from it all by driving a little inland to enjoy the water park which is in the Gouvia area. The children will love the area with so much to do.
Up a long drive off the main road is this lovely home… and it is just that: a home. The comfort, light and elegance of the furnishings is evident in every room. From the small children’s bedroom off the playroom to the comfortable beds by the pool looking over Gouvia Marina. This house is perfectly positioned for exploring the central coast and Corfu town on the East.
The garden is well established with clever and thoughtful planting, delicious smells of pine and citrus tempt at every turn. With lots of nooks and crannies, this is a great garden for children… and the resident couple will happily babysit if you can’t resist the bright lights of Corfu town.
The views down to the sea rival any we have seen on this surprising island, the marina is lively and busy but this house is set back in the hills so you are not bothered by the noise of the place.
There are so many different places to sit and read, eat or snooze…
Furniture is a lovely mixture of antique and modern, the elegant old with the groovy new. The shelves are bulging with books and the choice of DVDs & CDs is overwhelming. The pool area is so inviting with a comfortable hammock, sunbeds and yet another place to eat, there are pergolas, umbrellas and lots of trees which cast their cool shade in this wonderful space.
There is a cool, shaded and curtained daybed next to one of the many dining areas, the perfect place to flop after a delicious meal cooked by the resident chef.
At over 450 square metres, this is nearly double the size of most 5 bedroom houses in Corfu… we think you’ll be surprised at how much space there is, especially the amazing covered terraces.
Please note that the pool is not fenced off & the terrace walls are fairly low. Please ensure children are supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
