Local Information

The Ionian islands are famous for the crystal clear water in which they lie as well as those lazy, long, hot days all summer long. The light on Paxos is quite extraordinary.

Legend has it that the sea is so blue that it reflects on the undersides of the seagulls as they fly across the water.
Hire a boat and scoot across to Anti Paxos for the day – or charter a yacht or bigger boat. The soft white sand in Anti Paxos is perfect for spending long days relaxing.
Paxos has the beautiful bays in which to drop anchor and swim. There are caves, cliffs and gentle pebble beaches which all combine to create this most magical of places.
The local restaurants are now of a very high standard, serving both traditional and contemporary Greek food as well as excellent Italian fare. Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure. There are some great shops in Gaios and further north, wonderful present shops and some lovely clothes shops too.
Lots to do on the island – there are some beautiful walks through flower-filled olive groves, fish off the end of a boat or snorkel gently with the dolphins.
Our View

We thought we’d seen it all until we were shown around this beautiful estate in the south of Paxos. The Italian owners showed us the house on the most beautiful September day while the sun glinted off the sea right in front of this stylish property. It is an architectural wonder which has been sympathetically constructed in natural stone.

The outdoor areas are very spacious: a garden full of established herbs, fruit trees and sea grass. There is a little path leading straight down to the sea where you can jump straight into the water. There are great places for children to run and play, shaded nooks and peaceful trees to read under.

There are big stone tables to sit at, under bamboo shading, surrounded by sofas to lounge on. There is a huge barbeque with a sink and wood-fired oven. Everything has been thought of for a wonderful time away from it all.

Then there’s the glorious pool area – the owners have even added speakers and amplifiers… swim to the sounds of your favourite band!
The kitchen is white and stainless steel, state of the art and perfect for the resident chef who will be able to knock up something delicious and fresh. Breakfast on the terrace looking out to sea would be the perfect way to start the day.
The house has a concierge and guests are welcome to bring there own staff if they desire as there is plenty of space for them to stay.
