Local Information

Corfu, famed for it’s glorious greenery and luscious interior, has become an immensely popular and luxurious destination. Often attracting the A list, this divine island offers stunning beaches, great night life, delectable restaurants and boat hopping between small and quaint tavernas meaning that even the most restless of pleasure seeker will be happy!

The north east coast is full of outstanding bays and white pebbled coves, higher up, away from the coast the interior is home to birds of prey, rare flora and rural simplicity. Water sports a-plenty can be found on many of the local beaches.

Kalami is a pretty little bay with a collection of houses and restaurants. It’s also possible to enjoy water sports here, including water-skiing, wake boarding and ringos – the village was made famous by the Durrell brothers who both wrote books when they stayed at The White House here. The White House is still owned and run by the family who rented it to the great writer Lawrence Durrell and his wife Nancy before WW2. ‘Larry’ later painted the story of the house and charm of Corfu in his famed account ‘Prospero’s Cell’. The family have now created a modern Greek restaurant with luxurious cocktail area for guests to laze in the garden under the shade of the olive trees, gazing at the boats in the bay and the Albanian coastline.

Nearby St Stephano is a simple and pretty harbour with seafront tavernas and a delightful beach.

For the teenagers the night life in Kassiopi is only a short distance away.

This is a fine place to spend a family holiday or with a close group of friends, potter into town for delicious local delicacies, take a small boat to a tiny taverna for a long, lazy lunch of fresh fish and come home to a delicious dinner under the stars.

Our View

A particularly elegant house, over-looking one of the best views in the Ionian. Beautifully maintained with a bright and open living space, furnished with spotless linens and the owner’s curated finds. Olive, cypress and oak trees surround the house opening out over the terrace to take advantage of the incredible views.
