Location

The house is in the north east of Paxos above Lakka. It is a 5 minute drive to the village. It is possible to walk down to the sea in 15/20 minutes.

It’s a good walk into Lakka where you will find good restaurants and bars as well as boat hire and some very pretty walking. There are some gift shops and an excellent ice cream shop! The scuba diving is based in Lakka and there is a good chemist, several supermarkets and it has a cash point.

It is possible to walk down to two beaches from the house: Harami in 10 minutes and Planos in about 12 minutes.

The house is very near the lighthouse.

Loggos is a 10 minute drive and it is 20 minutes to drive down to the southern village of Gaios.

Transport

Local Information

Paxos boasts some of the bluest waters in Europe, you would be forgiven for dreaming that you were in the Caribbean. With its endless olive groves and warm waters, Paxos is the most glorious island year round.
There is no airport on the island which has enabled Paxos to retain its simplicity and there is something very pure about the place.

Mass tourism has certainly not reached this idyllic spot, the tavernas are properly local but, due to the attraction of the island to the Italian visitor in recent years the standard of food is amazing for such a small place.
Enjoy delicious home made pasta, glorious salads and scrumptious fresh fish in great surroundings.

Take a boat to visit the white sands of Anti Paxos for the day – book lunch on the beach there and leave your boat bobbing just a few metres away in the blue bay – there is no marina in Anti Paxos, just drop your anchor and swim ashore!

For those cocktail lovers there is the trendy Ben’s beach with its decking and dancing at sunset…certainly the place to go and see the beautiful Italians. Swim around into Lakkos Bay just by Lakka for the ultimate in barefoot chic.

Those who visit Paxos go back time and time again.

Our View

Just above the beautiful little fishing village of Lakka, on a pretty hillside which faces the stunning western cliffs of Paxos is this amazing new villa. Built recently with all mod cons this high end property offers all the luxuries we would expect from a house at this level. It has been built over two levels and enjoys extraordinary panoramic views across the sea and the dramatic west coast of the island.

The house sleeps 10 people in 5 beautiful, air conditioned bedrooms. 2 bedrooms are on the upper ground floor and 3 below. All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and views of the Ionian. The rooms have been beautifully decorated using natural products, lovely wooden furniture and dark blues are echoed in every room – a tasteful seaside house perfect for a large group.

The kitchen is open plan to the sitting room with bar stools and a big outside table where we would have breakfast. Beautiful basket ceiling lights complete the designer look. The sitting room has lovely little touches: a hand made bench, zebra floor coverings, lovely blue and white linens as well as high ceilings. Bedrooms are large and comfortable, ethnic fabrics and old furniture marry beautifully with contemporary lighting and beautiful sheets. All the bedrooms have floor to ceiling doors which open up onto a terrace. Each has its own en suite, modern bathroom – fabulous showers and fluffy towels (our favourite!) but it is really the outside space which gives this villa the X factor.

From the lower bedroom terrace steps lead down to the glorious pool area. The owners have used dark wooden decking around the pool and there is a great shaded pavilion area for those wanting some respite from the sun. The piece de resistance is the fully stocked poolside bar – a long, white bar is just asking for you and your friends to prop it up – we can just see everyone enjoying happy days having fun here. The barbecue is also by the pool – and a big table for lunch or supper.

The top bedroom terraces are filled with beautiful white furniture – the perfect spot to enjoy a sun downer or to lounge during the day with a good book – while the lower bedrooms also have terraces and sun loungers. If you’ve had enough of the pool wander (in 15 minutes for good walkers) down to the sea where there are two different beaches to choose from.

We love that Lakka is such a short drive – with all its twinkling lights in the evening, Lakka is the perfect place to go out for dinner as it has a great selection of restaurants. Keep your boat in the village and explore the island during the day.
