Local Information

Korcula is famous for its quaint fishing villages, winding coastline, fertile olive trees and vineyards growing award winning grapes. Boasting delicious food, dramatic scenery and fascinating cultural and historical sites, this island has the best of all worlds and is virtually undiscovered.

Korcula Town itself is only a 5km drive or 15 minute boat journey from Villa Lovra, and is often affectionately named ‘Little Dubrovnik’ for its many similarities to that iconic city. The main town itself is on a peninsula, with many little lanes leading directly down to the water’s edge. It was built under Venetian influences, the old town is shaped in a fish bone, acting as an architectural form of air conditioning to keep its inhabitants cool and comfortable, protected from the effects of the wind and the sun. There are no cars here, and each charming cobbled street has something new to offer around each corner. There are many excellent restaurants and bars here, with wonderful views of the sea.

Spend your days on the water, exploring the many secluded beaches and bays. Head in to town for a delicious lunch of fresh grilled fish, before heading back to your villa to relax in the afternoon sun with a good book.

Our View

This villa really is something else – situated in a quiet, beautiful bay, close enough to the action in Korcula Town but far enough away to feel blissfully remote, you really do get the best of both worlds. Arriving by boat, the views are to die for, as are the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic sea. The private jetty backs on to what is in effect your own private beach, complete with comfortable sun loungers, so you can while away the hours under the summer sun.

Carrying on up the path to the house, you come to the wonderful outdoor dining area and “chill-out” seating, overlooking the bay with the beautiful, mountainous backdrop of the Paljasec Peninsula. Next, you come to the pool terrace, with yet more wonderful spots to relax in the sunshine and overlooking the bay below. Life really is about the water here, so make the most of the kayaks and paddle boards provided at the villa to explore the coastline at your leisure.

The villa itself is furnished to an incredibly high standard – you’ll want for nothing here as its the perfect family home. Spacious, with five bedrooms and an open plan living space, vast terraces for shaded brunches, lunches and drinks beneath the stars, its the perfect space for a larger group to come together without ever feeling remotely on top of each other.

You’re spoilt for choice for places to sit and enjoy your morning coffee, a good book or an evening aperitif, and the views from all corners are sublime.
