The pace of life on Paxos is unhurried and above all else, chilled. You will be met with genuine, friendly Greek hospitality at its best. Visitors to Paxos are always captivated by its picturesque simplicity and an easy pace of life. A morning stroll to the baker for fresh, warm bread, then off in the boat, or on foot, for a relaxing day at the beach, back in the evening for dinner at one of the harbourside tavernas, and a romantic walk home beneath a sky of brilliant stars.
Warm seas and big sunsets make Paxos a fabulous destination that still hasn’t been spoiled by the influx of too many tourists. There are white pebble bays on the east coast and majestic white cliffs and deep caves on the west which give guests a range of things to explore. There are walks through flower filled olive groves, gentle fishing, snorkelling and diving.
Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure -with a fierce passion for quality and tradition together with some very hip laid-back bars and tavernas.
Boats are the best way to discover the beautiful coastline. Charter a yacht or motorboat and cruise round the island or hop over to Antipaxos. Moor the boat in the shallow waters & swim ashore for lunch in a beach taverna or dive for sea urchins with your captain.
The island is small making it easy to visit all three of the villages on the island – Gaios, Lakka & Loggos. They have wonderful shops for clothes and presents.
This house has the most incredible views of Mongonissi Bay and has been designed to bask in the stunning light that reflects off the sea. A short walk downhill will bring you to the bay- a wonderful place for a morning swim. Walk a little further round the bay and you’ll reach two waterfront restaurants, low key and relaxed, they’re just the spot for an easy lunch.
Expansive glass windows and a clever use of natural materials blends the exterior and interior seamlessly. The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area has beautifully polished concrete worktops, tactile wooden cabinetry and carefully chosen furniture. Billowing drapes cast shadows across the light filled bedrooms- we loved that they had been thoughtfully designed with plenty of storage, and deep, comfortable matresses.
