The pace of life on Paxos is unhurried and above all else, chilled. You will be met with genuine, friendly Greek hospitality at its best. Visitors to Paxos are always captivated by its picturesque simplicity and an easy pace of life. A morning stroll to the baker for fresh, warm bread, then off in the boat, or on foot, for a relaxing day at the beach, back in the evening for dinner at one of the harbourside tavernas, and a romantic walk home beneath a sky of brilliant stars.
Warm seas and big sunsets make Paxos a fabulous destination that still hasn’t been spoiled by the influx of too many tourists. There are white pebble bays on the east coast and majestic white cliffs and deep caves on the west which give guests a range of things to explore. There are walks through flower filled olive groves, gentle fishing, snorkelling and diving.
Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure -with a fierce passion for quality and tradition together with some very hip laid-back bars and tavernas.
Boats are the best way to discover the beautiful coastline. Charter a yacht or motorboat and cruise round the island or hop over to Antipaxos. Moor the boat in the shallow waters & swim ashore for lunch in a beach taverna or dive for sea urchins with your captain.
The island is small making it easy to visit all three of the villages on the island – Gaios, Lakka & Loggos. They have wonderful shops for clothes and presents.
And we haven’t even mentioned the amazing swimming!
This beautiful villa has been completed to a very high and luxurious standard. It has glorious, individually hand-carved Paxiot stonework which make the outside change with the light and come alive. The house has been built to the very highest of standards with interior designer, Lian Vermeer, who has worked hard to create these beautiful, high spec interiors.
The floors are wooden or stone – great for keeping the place cool. The kitchen and its equipment are of the highest spec and in keeping with a property of this quality. Original artwork from the studio of photographer, Kevin Price, can be found in many rooms.
The beds and cupboards have been individually designed and hand made, so much thought has gone into each room. There is Italian linen, bedding and towels throughout with matching bed heads. Luxury mattresses and fluffy pillows come as standard and make for a tranquil night’s sleep.
The children’s (or even adult’s!) room has four full-size bunk beds and is particularly fun with white painted furniture, bright canvasses and plenty of space.
Bathrooms (six of them!) are a mix of stone and marble with power showers and clean lines – the perfect way to refresh after a long day on the boat or at the beach. The gym, games and cinema room all flow one into each other with something for everyone!
Big sun loungers and umbrellas give you a great space to sunbathe or just read your book in the shade while the big infinity pool can take all guests at once (with room to spare!). Two funky, free standing 60s-inspired egg pod chairs are just right for that all-necessary snooze after lunch.
The basketball court will appeal to those with action in mind, while the terraced rosemary and lavender beds and olive groves provide colour, shade and delicious smells!
The mesmerising views from the balconies, terraces and garden stretch down to Avlaki and the bright blue of the Ionian beyond. These have to be seen to be believed! In our view this is a frontline property in every sense.
