Local Information

The house is perched just above Kaki Langada bay nestled within the ancient olive groves. Kaki Langada is just one of the many beautiful bays dotted along the East coast. Each has a pebble beach and crystal clear water which is perfect for snorkelling. The crystal clear water of the Ionian islands has to be witnessed first hand, it is said that the sea is so blue that it reflects on the undersides of the seagulls as they fly across the water!

Nearby Fontana has a lovely authentic taverna called Dolos which is worth a visit. Fontana also has a local village shop for picking up basics.

The beautiful and unspoilt fishing village of Loggos has a small selection of tavernas and bars. There is a small supermarket, a fabulous bakery and lots of gift shops, Lakka also has a good choice of tavernas and bars (and also has a cashpoint) and Gaios has the only bank.

It is possible to charter a yacht or motor boat to lunch on the white sands of the nearby island of Anti Paxos (2km). Exploring the hidden beauty in every bay by boat is a real treat, drop the anchor and swim through the mysterious caves that dot the coastline.

There is scuba diving, great snorkelling and some gentle water sports in the north of the island.

The local restaurants are of a high standard serving both traditional Greek food and the most delicious Italian cuisine.

Eating out on Paxos is a pleasure. White pebble bays on the east coast and majestic white cliffs and deep caves on the West give families a range of things to explore. For the “intrepid” there are walks through flower filled olive groves, gentle fishing, snorkelling and diving.

Our View

From the terrace there are the most breathtaking views out towards the mainland and the island of Panagia. Lie back on the comfy, shaded sofas with a cool drink in hand and gaze out onto the endless blue of the Ionian. The house is set into the hillside and surrounded by olive and cypress trees so feels very private and secluded. It is separated into 3 different apartments which means that friends travelling together will have their own space. The outdoor dining area is great for getting everyone together for an evening meal.

The main villa and guest house are set on the same level as the pool, a few steps at the end of the garden take you down to the pool house set into the terrace below. The owner is Italian and has kept the interiors beautifully simple and calm and the pretty turquoise floor tiles in the Guest House gives it a unique feel. The main living area is open plan with large French doors which open out onto the dining area and pool terrace.

A steep 10 minute walk downhill brings you to the beautiful little bay of Kaki Langada which is perfect for a morning dip before heading back up to the villa for breakfast on the terrace. If you’re up early enough the sunrise is not to be missed!
